General information
Lipase is an enzyme with an essential role in digestion, transport, and processing of dietary lipids. Immobilized lipase cartridge marketed as RELiZORB is indicated for patients to hydrolyze (digest) fats in enteral formula. In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that the immobilized lipase cartridge RELiZORB can help improve fatty acids abnormalities in cystic fibrosis patients. By improving omega-3 levels, which has been shown to help pulmonary and inflammatory parameters, it may have long-term therapeutic benefits in patients with cystic fibrosis.
